Balanco
Balanco, the Portuguese word for cantilever, investigates this structural principle as a strategy to transform the perception of weight in upholstered furniture. The project reveals lightness through its form, as the sofa articulates misaligned volumes and minimal supports. The combination of solid wood, natural stone, brass, and textiles such as linen, leather, and velvet establishes a dialogue between material density and visual lightness, proposing a lighter and more expressive interpretation of the contemporary sofa.
