Bench Acqua

This project is a bench made of wood plates of multi-laminated walnut conformed one by one manual mode. The interior was made with matte satin paint. The construction process involves two types of molds, one fixed and one movable, which are used in two different steps, the mobile remains stable thanks to the embedded metal pins between the plates which are being preserved format.

Drops

Drops coffee table captures the beauty of rain drops by suspending the motion on the hard surface of wood. The two drops together also adds the dimension of time by having one hit the surface right after the first. The deeply sculpted legs also add to the organic nature of the design. Drops coffee table is a visually interesting and well balanced piece of furniture.

Y

The Y TABLE was conceived as an architectural object. It is a table, in essence. But its form, structure and materials define it differently, voluntarily bringing architecture into an everyday life object. The eight ‘Y’ members that form the central pedestal of the table, are linked together only at the tip, barely touching each other. The point of contact between each Y element is minimal. Huxley's Ladder

Huxley's Ladder from Marc Scimé's Los Angeles based Studio for Design synthesizes monastic and utilitarian and unites fun and function. Simple wooden bookshelves and library ladders may have traditional associations, but Huxley’s is a reminder that fun and function are not necessarily mutually exclusive. Fun in function can transcend experience; it can serve a function. The thing that makes Huxley's Ladder fun is what also makes it functional and vise-versa.

PEACOCK

Peacock is a test tube vase designed to host various floral arrangements. The vase has a minimal structural setting which provides a platform for floral artists to create their own artwork and displays. Consisting of twenty-one stems which organically interconnect to each other, the vase mimics a radially spread peacock display with unique patterns and focal points. Each stem holds a glass tube which houses water and flowers which can be removed and refilled without having to move the vase itself.
